How this job actually runs
Most failed windows were specified in a showroom and measured by someone who never has to install them. We reverse that.
Custom design here means matching the opening, the elevation and the budget before anyone cuts a frame. We work from an architect’s drawings when they exist, and from a tape and a laser when they do not. Either way the output is the same: sizes, glass, hardware and a tier that is honest for that wall. We look at it like mechanics: why did the old window fail, and how do we fix the root cause?
West-facing glass in Houston is a specification problem. August solar gain bakes living rooms, and Katy clay shifts and racks frames. Those constraints belong in the measure, not as change orders after fabrication. If the job needs drawings for a permit or an HOA packet, they come from the same appointment, backed by Ghazal’s regulatory rigor.
You do not have to specify the same system on every opening. A thermally broken aluminum wall of glass on the west patio and vinyl or Elevate on shaded bedrooms is a normal package for us. If a room is perfectly shaded, do not buy full premium aluminum. We will tell you when to downgrade.
Send a photo of the elevation or the address with your quote request. The measure is free. The point of it is to stop you buying the wrong product for the opening you actually have. But if you just need a $5 weatherstripping repair, go to the hardware store. We are builders and manufacturers, not a handyman service.
If you would rather measure it yourself and get a number without waiting on an appointment, do that. Parsa has written out how we measure, three-point widths and heights, diagonals, depth and the four photos worth sending, along with the openings where measuring it yourself is the wrong call.

What You Can Expect
Measured on site
Openings, out-of-square walls and existing flashing are recorded before we fabricate.
By elevation, not by house
West glass, stair voids and shaded bedrooms can take different tiers in one package.
Drawings when you need them
HOA packets and permit drawings come from the same measure, not a third party.
Honest tier advice
We own two of three tiers, so recommending the cheaper option costs us nothing.
Typical Jobs
- Homeowners replacing a few openings or a whole house and wanting a spec, not a guess
- Architects and designers who need shop drawings that match the elevations
- HOA properties that need the exterior to match the street before a board will approve
Questions about this service
Do you charge for a measure?
The measure and the first specification are free. You are not on the clock until you ask us to fabricate. If you would rather send your own numbers and skip the appointment, measure it the way we do and send the photos with it.
Can you work from an architect’s drawings?
Yes. Bring the elevations. We still verify on site, because a quarter-inch on a large slider is the difference between a door that seals and a door that binds.
Who comes to the appointment?
Quote requests go straight to our specialist team. A specialist or a crew lead from the Heights shop walks the job. There is no call-center scheduler between you and the people who will install it.
