Compare All Three Tiers, Honestly

Royal Windoor is one of very few companies in this market that manufactures across two tiers and distributes a third. That means we can write this comparison, and be straight about where the cheaper option wins.

The Three Tiers

Same installer, same measuring discipline, three very different products. The row that matters most is usually “maximum panel size,” because that is the one where the decision gets made for you.

How to Actually Decide

Start With the Opening, Not the Budget

Most people start by asking what windows cost, and that is the hardest question to answer usefully. Start instead with the openings themselves.

If you have a wall of glass, a folding system, a lift & slide, or any single panel beyond what vinyl can structurally carry, the material decision is already made, that is aluminum, and the only remaining question is glass specification. If every opening in the project is a conventional size, the material decision is genuinely open, and then it comes down to how much the frame appearance matters to you and what the budget has to cover.

The third case is the common one: a mix. A house where the back elevation is architectural and the rest is ordinary. Specify the back in aluminum and the rest in vinyl, and the money goes where it shows.

Where Each Tier Genuinely Wins

Elevate wins on cost per protected opening and on speed. If you need twenty windows replaced and impact-rated, and you need it done in a month, no other line we carry competes.

Our vinyl wins when you want better than entry-level performance and finish on standard openings, and you would rather put the saving into more windows than into slimmer frames.

Our aluminum wins whenever the glazing is doing architectural work: large spans, thin sightlines, folding or lift & slide operation, or a finish and shape a production line will not make.

Questions

Comparison Questions

Is aluminum or vinyl better for Texas heat?

Neither, categorically, it depends on the frame construction. Aluminum conducts heat extremely well, so a non-thermally-broken aluminum frame is a poor performer in the Texas sun. A thermally broken aluminum frame, which is what we build, puts an insulating barrier in the middle of the extrusion and performs very well while keeping aluminum's strength advantage. Vinyl is naturally a poorer conductor, so it performs well thermally without needing a thermal break, but it cannot span large openings without extra framing. Choose on opening size and appearance first; both materials can hit good thermal numbers when built properly.

Which tier is the best value?

For a whole-house replacement where every opening is a standard size, the entry tier usually delivers the most protection and performance per dollar, and we will say so. For a single architectural opening that defines a room, the premium tier is the only one that can actually do the job, so value does not really enter into it.

Can I mix tiers in one house?

Yes, and it is often the smartest approach. Premium aluminum on the elevation that matters and on the large openings, entry or mid-tier vinyl on bedrooms, bathrooms and the sides of the house nobody sees. We quote it that way regularly.

Why would a manufacturer tell me to buy someone else's product?

Because the alternative is losing the job entirely. If your budget does not reach our own lines, we would rather sell you Elevate, install it properly and keep the relationship than watch you buy from a competitor. Our local ranking depends on reviews, and a comparison written to steer every reader to the highest-margin option is transparent to buyers.
