How is this built, and why does it matter?
Sliding windows earn their place on a Houston house wherever a casement would hit something. Over a kitchen sink. Above a tub. On a side elevation with three feet of setback. A horizontal slider gives you a wide pane, a sash that moves in its own plane, and no crank hardware sticking into the room.
The premium version of that idea is thermally broken aluminum rather than the builder vinyl slider most 2000s Houston homes still have. Slimmer frames, larger glass, a finish that matches the rest of an aluminum package, and hardware that does not jump the track after a few summers of grit. We manufacture them to the opening, including two- and three-lite configurations on a wide kitchen wall.
They are not the tightest operable window we make. A casement's compression seal still wins on air performance. Choose sliding when clearance is the constraint; choose casement when the wall can take a swing and you want the best close. Mixing them on one house is normal: casements on bedrooms, sliders on the kitchen and bath.
Mid-tier is our vinyl sliding window, which is the right replacement for a whole-house builder-slider package in Spring or Sugar Land when every opening is conventional. Aluminum sliding is the window you spec when the elevation is already aluminum, or when the opening is wider than vinyl wants to span cleanly.
Same product type in our other manufactured tier: Vinyl Sliding Windows.

Why does this survive Houston weather?
We build these to handle August west-facing solar gain, Galveston salt, and the shifting Katy clay that racks cheap frames.
Where casements cannot swing
Sinks, tubs, walkways and tight lots. The sash stays in the wall.
Wide lites
Horizontal glass is the point. We build two- and three-lite units to the opening.
Replacement of builder sliders
The most common failed window on 1990s-2010s Houston houses, upgraded in kind but not in quality.
Matches an aluminum elevation
Same thermally broken system as the casements and picture windows, not a vinyl orphan over the sink.
When to buy this, and when to downgrade
If you are not on this list, there is probably a better product in the line, and we will say so rather than force this one onto the opening. If a room is perfectly shaded, do not buy full premium aluminum.
- Kitchen and bath remodels that need operable glass over a counter or tub
- Side-yard elevations with no room for a casement to crank out
- Aluminum packages that should not switch material over the sink
- Homeowners replacing fogged vinyl sliders who want the same operation with a better frame

Questions about Sliding Windows
Sliding windows vs casement windows in Houston?
Sliding when you cannot spare swing clearance. Casement when you can, because the seal and the ventilation are better. We will not put a casement over a sink just because it is the higher-end line.
Can aluminum sliding windows be impact rated?
The glass package can be specified for coastal exposure as part of a rated assembly. That is a Pearland, Friendswood, Clear Lake and League City conversation more often than an inland one. Give us the address.
Why do my current sliding windows stick?
Dirt in the track, failed rollers, a frame that has moved, or vinyl that has gone oval in the sun. A new thermally broken aluminum slider with a clean track and decent hardware is a different daily experience. We also tell you when a casement would be the smarter replacement.
