How is this built, and why does it matter?
The entry door is the one product on a Houston house that every visitor judges in three seconds. A builder steel door with a fanlight does one job. An aluminum entry door with narrow stiles and a large glass panel does another: it makes the front elevation look like the rest of a modern glazing package instead of like a catalog door bolted onto it.
We manufacture thermally broken aluminum entry doors to the opening, including sidelites and transoms that actually share a sightline with the door instead of looking like three SKUs stacked in a brick hole. Pivot and oversized leaves are a conversation when the architecture wants them; most Houston replacements are a better-looking, better-sealing swing door in the existing rough opening.
Security and weather are not in tension with the glass. Laminated or impact-rated glass, a proper multi-point lock, and a frame that does not flex are how a glass entry door stays a front door rather than a display case. Coastal addresses get the impact conversation; inland modern homes still get the lock and the seal conversation.
If the rest of the house is our aluminum windows, the entry should not be a different metal and a different finish. Matching the front door to the aluminum window package is one of the cheapest ways to make a new-build or a full replacement look intentional.

Why does this survive Houston weather?
We build these to handle August west-facing solar gain, Galveston salt, and the shifting Katy clay that racks cheap frames.
The elevation, finished
A front door that belongs with the windows instead of fighting them.
Glass without being fragile
Specified glazing and multi-point locking so a statement door is still a secure door.
Sidelites and transoms as one system
Sightlines that line up. Not a door plus two leftover windows.
Thermally broken at the threshold
A metal entry without a thermal break is a comfort leak at the one opening you use in August.
When to buy this, and when to downgrade
If you are not on this list, there is probably a better product in the line, and we will say so rather than force this one onto the opening. If a room is perfectly shaded, do not buy full premium aluminum.
- Modern Houston new builds whose front elevation is glass and stucco or brick, not a traditional six-panel door
- Full-home aluminum replacements that should include the entry so finishes match
- Homeowners tired of a steel door that never looked like the house
- Addresses with HOA or review that still allow a contemporary glass entry with the right drawings

Questions about Entry Doors
Are aluminum entry doors secure?
A well-specified aluminum entry with laminated glass and multi-point locking is a different product from a decorative glass insert in a hollow door. We spec the glass and the lock with the frame. If your priority is a solid slab with no glass, say so, we would rather spec honestly than sell you a window in a door you will worry about.
Can you match my new aluminum windows?
Yes. That is one of the reasons to buy the entry from the same manufacturer as the windows. Finish, sightline and glass package can be specified together.
Do I need a permit to replace a front door in Houston?
A same-size replacement is often straightforward; changing the opening, adding sidelites or working in a historic or review district is not. Tell us the address and we will tell you what the job actually involves.
