The service

How this job actually runs

New construction is a coordination job as much as a product job. We treat the schedule as part of the specification.

On a new Houston house the glazing package is often the last thing that still looks like a catalog by the time the walls are up. We take the elevations, confirm rough openings on site, fabricate to those sizes, and install when the house is ready, not when a distant factory happens to ship.

Custom builders in Memorial, River Oaks, the Galleria and The Woodlands usually specify thermally broken aluminum: minimal sliders, folding walls, large fixed glass. Production infill and townhome work more often takes our vinyl line or Elevate. We will say which, rather than selling aluminum into a job that does not need it.

Because we manufacture two tiers in-house, a change on a west elevation does not wait on a factory in another state. Shop drawings and a takeoff come from the same people who will be on site. GHBA membership is how we stay in the rooms with the builders who specify this work, see affiliations.

If you are the homeowner rather than the builder, send the drawing set or the superintendent’s number. We are used to being the glazing trade on someone else’s schedule.

What is included

What You Can Expect

Takeoff from the drawings

We size the package from elevations and verify the roughs before we fabricate.

Installation on your schedule

We show up when the house is ready for glass, not when it is convenient for us.

The right tier for the spec

Premium aluminum where the architecture needs it; vinyl or Elevate where it does not.

One trade through punch list

Adjustments after closing still come from the Heights shop.

Who it is for

Typical Jobs

What It Looks Like When the Units Go In

Units in, before the trim and the sheetrock. This is the stage where a bad opening becomes somebody’s problem for the next twenty years.

Four panel black aluminum Royal Windoor window unit installed in timber framing with factory labels still on the glass

A four panel unit set into the framing and squared before the wall is closed. The paper labels on the glass are the factory’s, and they stay on until the trades are finished.

Royal Windoor casement windows installed in a new build, factory labels visible on the glass

A casement pair on the same job. Our label on the glass is how the framer, the inspector and the homeowner can all tell whose unit is in the wall.

Questions

Questions about this service

Can you work as a subcontractor to my builder?

Yes. Most new-construction packages run that way. Send the superintendent and the drawing set; quote requests still reach our specialist team.

Do you provide shop drawings?

Yes, from the takeoff and the site measure. That is what the framer and the inspector actually need, not a brochure.

What lead time should a builder plan for?

Elevate is the quicker of the two and custom aluminum is longer, depending on the openings. We give you the date on the quote. Put us on the schedule at framing, not at dry-in.
