Window Repair vs Replacement in a Houston Home
Not every failing window needs replacing. The answer usually depends on which of three things has failed: the hardware, the sealed glass unit, or the frame itself.

Rebuilding transmissions taught me a hard lesson: know when to replace a single part, and know when to scrap the whole system. Windows follow the exact same logic. The most common call I get is from someone who thinks they need twenty new windows because a few are sticking. My job is to diagnose the failure before you spend a dime.
Is your window actually broken or just missing a cheap part?
I will tell you plainly when not to buy new windows from us. If your window has a seized crank operator, a snapped balance, or a flattened weatherstrip, do not replace the window. Go buy a five-dollar replacement part. The hardware is genuinely repairable. I would much rather tell you to fix it yourself than sell you a massive replacement package your house does not need.
Why is there a permanent fog inside your glass?
A failed sealed unit is a different problem. When the perimeter seal lets go, the desiccant saturates. The cavity fills with moisture. If the frame is still square and solid, we can just replace the glass unit. But if the frame is a cheap 1980s aluminum unit with no thermal break, replacing the glass is throwing good money after bad. That old metal frame will sweat every winter.
Why is water pooling on your sill after a heavy Gulf rain?
The frame is the deciding factor. If water is getting past the sill and into the drywall, the problem is the flashing behind the trim. A new sash will not fix a flashing failure. Clay soil in Katy and Cypress shifts slabs and racks frames out of square. If the frame is racked, repair is just a payment plan on a replacement you will eventually have to make.
Send a photo of the problem through the quote form, and I will diagnose it like a mechanic checking an engine.
Questions from this guide
Do you repair windows?
No. We manufacture and install. If you just need a new roller or weatherstrip, we will advise you to call a local repair trade.
How do I tell hardware failure from frame failure?
If the window still closes square but is hard to push, it is hardware. If water leaks onto the sill during rain, it is a frame or flashing failure.
